Dear readers,

It seems like yesterday, but with this edition we celebrate the fifth anniversary of the beginning of this magazine, founded by Dr. Robert Melo and Mr. Tim Moore, baptized with the name The Trumpeter, in order to create the first written medium in Spanish in Polk County. Recognizing their noble mission, I joined the group and in 2019 the magazine became part of the Institute of Spanish Communication, Inc. now under the name ¡Viva Polk!

Since its inception, this magazine has had as its main purpose, to inform, inspire, educate, promote our local businesses and highlight community leaders. Today our team has the collaboration of a large group of professionals, natives of different countries, who work and contribute to this publication, all united by the passion to create a product that honors our beautiful language and represents our diverse cultures. We also have the unconditional support of Anglo-Saxon, local and national companies that recognize the valuable Hispanic growth, not just in Polk County, but across the country.

In this, its first quarterly issue of 2022, we have focused on love and prosperity. We are proud to introduce you to Mike and Sylvana Murphy (Cover). This cute couple, owners of Miracle Toyota in Haines City, are recognized for their many community contributions and their passion for improving the world we live in. Mike Murphy recently released his new bilingual book, "Dennisisms," in which he honors the memory of his father and shares the secrets of his success as the founder of the successful Murphy Auto Group. We also highlight local artists who enrich universal culture and we have the new collaboration of Mariela Romero, Nyrka Riskin, Grace Vega, Evelyn Pena and Ismael Portillo who delight us with their writings.

We welcome new advertisers such as South State Bank, ORB Engineering, Inc., El Zocalo Fishmarket, Tri-County Services, We Care Family Physicians, Advocate Law Firm, and the Vega Production Media collaboration.

Many thanks to everyone, especially you, our readers, the reason why Viva Polk exists. Long live Polk!

Join our purpose. Send us your comments and constructive ideas, letting us know how we can make you more pleased. The strength is in the joining.
