Lakeland Hispanic Festival

Susana Áviles / President of the Lakeland Hispanic Club and Hispanic Festival Hispanic Heritage Month is coming up and we all know what that means - we're having our famous Lakeland Hispanic Festival here soon! Where? - On the beautiful Mirror Lake located in the center of Lakeland, on its Frances Langford Promanade. This year, on Saturday, October 23 at 12:00 p.m. at 8:00 p.m. A day in which many Hispanics proudly wear the colors of their respective flags and attend with their families to celebrate our heritage together. This annual festival, which unfortunately had to be canceled last year due to COVID-19, celebrates its 24th anniversary this year. It is organized by the Lakeland Hispanic Club, a non-profit organization, made up of a group of volunteers who are committed and passionate about our community. Its main purpose is to raise funds to award scholarships to Hispanic students facing great financial challenges. These students must have demonstrated academic excellence during their studies and a great interest in continuing to excel, whether at university, technical colleges, police academies, firefighters, or any other educational institution. If you, or someone you know, is interested in applying for a scholarship, feel free to visit:

www.clubhispanodelakeland.com.

Sponsors, vendors and what is charged to enter the festival, make it possible to raise the funds necessary to provide these scholarships. A portion of the money raised that day is also used to help families and countries that have experienced adversity, and of course, to pay the park rent, professional musicians and everything necessary to celebrate a day full of Latino traditions. . Admission is $ 5 per person and free for children 12 and under.

It is the day of celebrating our Hispanicity, tasting food, listening to our beautiful music, dancing and sharing our diverse and rich cultures with the people of Central Florida. If you are interested in being a part of this honorable cause, as a sponsor, vendor, or demonstrator, feel free to visit our website or contact Angie Ellis at 863-255-2850.
